Description
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of janitorial equipment used throughout Miami International Airport. This position is responsible for ensuring all janitorial tools and machines are fully operational, safe, and in good working condition to support cleaning operations across the facility.ABM offers a comprehensive benefits package. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and operational issues on janitorial equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment including:
- Commercial upright and backpack vacuums
- Floor scrubbers (walk-behind and ride-on)
- Burnishers and polishers
- Carpet extractors
- Wet/dry vacuums
- Pressure washers
- Automatic soap/sanitizer dispensers
- Paper towel/toilet paper dispensers
- Perform routine maintenance checks and preventive servicing of all janitorial equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and equipment inventory.
- Replace worn or defective parts such as belts, hoses, wheels, switches, filters, and brushes.
- Coordinate with vendors for warranty service or specialized repairs when required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, complying with OSHA and airport safety regulations.
- Provide input on equipment condition, repair costs, and replacement needs.
- Support emergency equipment repair needs during airport operational hours.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of mechanical or electrical repair experience; experience with janitorial equipment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read equipment manuals and interpret technical diagrams.
- Familiarity with basic tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied airport environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must pass airport background and security clearance check
