Description
Job Summary
This role is responsible for performing basic repairs, services, and preventative maintenance on light vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines, road construction and maintenance equipment, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. The position also promotes and practices safe work habits while completing assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and Repair: Perform diagnostics, repairs, and basic tasks on equipment, including tires, brakes, lighting, pumps, and valves. Use basic scan tools to read and clear engine codes.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment according to established guidelines.
Documentation and Records: Prepare, process, and maintain repair documentation and work orders using computer systems. Perform accurate time and leave entry.
General Support: Carry out manual labor and other duties as assigned to support equipment and vehicle maintenance operations.
Requirements
Qualifications
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and perform manual labor.
Ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from service and equipment manuals.
Ability to record and maintain data in computer systems.
Knowledge of general shop procedures.
Skill in performing light vehicle services and repairs.
Proficiency in computer use for research, navigation, and communication.
Valid drivers license.
Safety shoes required.
Preferred Experience
Training, education, or experience in equipment or auto repair.
Knowledge of welding practices.
Familiarity with laptop and/or hand-held diagnostic programs.
